Yamazaki Distiller’s Reserve is a no-age-statement Japanese single malt from Suntory, produced at the historic Yamazaki Distillery—founded in 1923 as Japan’s first commercial malt whisky distillery.

Bottled at 43% ABV, the Distiller’s Reserve brings together whisky matured in a variety of casks, including Bordeaux wine casks, Spanish sherry casks and Japanese Mizunara oak. The result is a fruit-forward and approachable expression that offers an excellent introduction to the Yamazaki house style, at a more accessible price point than its celebrated age-statement siblings.

Nose: Fresh strawberries, raspberries and peach, with coconut and the aromatic sandalwood character associated with Mizunara oak.

Palate: Soft red fruits and caramel mingle with malt, gentle oak and subtle spice, developing additional depth as it sits in the glass.

Finish: Sweet fruit gradually gives way to a warm, dry and gently spicy finish with lingering sandalwood and oak.
