Smith Story Wine Cellars, Lord Sandwich Blanc, North Coast 2017
Original price was: $24.99.$9.99Current price is: $9.99.
The 2017 Lord Sandwich Blanc from Smith Story Wine Cellars begins with lots of attractive Sauvignon Blanc like aromas on the nose – kiwi, lime and a touch of grassiness. The wine tastes smooth, dry and delicious and has tons of zesty fruit flavors in the mouth. There’s tart and juicy blood orange, lime and apple as well as assorted tropical fruit flavors. With plenty of acidity, this is lip-smacking stuff! It ends dry with lots of lingering tart fruit, good length and just a touch of spiced apple coming out at the end, perhaps from the Chardonnay.
With much more to discover than your standard Sauvignon Blanc, this is a really intriguing and delicious blend offering lots of layers as you sip away at it. We suggest you hop on this deal and do just that!
I’m assuming there’s probably a story about a missing sandwich behind the name but the great thing is that proceeds of this wine go to socksforsandwich.org, a charity that distributes new socks to people in need, like women and children recovering from domestic abuse, foster care groups, the homeless and more.
This best of breed white blend is 80% Sauvignon Blanc from the Russian River Valley, 15% Verdelho from Contra Cost County and 5% Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley. The Chardonnay was aged for over a year in neutral Burgundian oak. The wine has no residual sugar and only 1,100 cases were produced.
