Kechris Retsina Tear of the Pine

The Tear of the Pine Retsina from Kechris has a straw yellow color, delicate aromas, with subtle shades of resin, hints of minerality and fruity nuances. Excellent touch of vanilla wrapped around a core of pears, basil and nuts with a long finish, with retsina adding something spicy without dominating the whole. Cool and fruity finish with herbal touches, this is a unique wine and a unique vilification process. The Greeks have favored retsina since the earliest days of ancient winemaking, when they used pine resin to line and seal terracotta amphoras. Even after wooden barrels replaced amphoras as the preferred storage vessels, the Greeks retained their taste for retsina.
