About the producer
The origins of the Gautier family vineyard date back to 1669. Seven generations of Gautiers have made wine since the property. In 1981, Benoit Gautier took over, bringing a new dynamism to the estate. Today, the wines are know world-over for their high quality.
A RICH PORTFOLIO OF VOUVRAY WINES
Domaine Benoit Gautier posseses 15 hectares of vineyards situated in the communes of P-M, et R, exclusively on clay-limestones soils.
The grapes are all hand-picked in successive passage through the vineyards and the wines are fermented and matured in troglodytic caves with constant temperature and pressure. These traditional techniques give Vouvray its noble traits.
THE VOUVRAY VINEYARD
The vineyard of Vouvray rises upstream from the city of Tours along the right bank of the Loire River.
Since 372, when vines were planted at the monastery of Marmoutier, Vouvray has remained faithfull to its motto « je réjouis les coeurs ».
