Anderson Valley, Sonoma County, Napa Valley, Mendocino County. The very rough and unscientific formula is this: about a third Bordeaux varieties, about a third Rhone varieties, and about a third other varieties dominated by Zinfandel with a bit of this or that peppered in. An organic Carignan vineyard in Redwood Valley continues to expand its influence in Mordecai, acting as a bridge between the Rhone and Bordeaux lots.

Winemaker Notes
An enticing nose of of spice, black tea and candied bacon covered in fudge. On the palate it is a mouthwatering mélange of blue fruit flavors backed by bright balanced acid, rustic leather tannins and meaty tones giving way to a smooth, milk chocolate finish. Blend: 25% Petite Sirah, 23% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, 8% Syrah, 6% Mourvèdre, 5% Malbec, 4% Grenache, 4% Tannat, 3% Zinfandel

This big, focused and nicely concentrated wine offers potent blueberries and blackberries, with hints of dark chocolate and mint. Moderate tannins and good balance keep it appetizing in texture.
