Chinaco Tequila Hybrid Tasting (March 2, 2021)

Join us on Tuesday, March 2nd, at 7:00 PM, for a hybrid tasting of Chinaco Tequila led by Paulo Pereira, Business Development Manager at Hotaling & Co.

Agaves for Chinaco are organic as the plantations in Tamaulipas do not require fertilizers or herbicides. Tamaulipas agaves are harvested with incomparable phenolic ripeness. Chinaco purchases some of its agaves from local growers in different municipalities of Tamaulipas, with the most quality conscious jimadores submitting agave samples regularly for constant appraisal of maturation.

Fermentation occurs in stainless steel vessels, using the same, proprietary, ambient yeasts since Chinaco’s inception in 1978. A 72-hour slow fermentation process with the proprietary yeast contributes to the fruitiness and floral aromatics inherent to Chinaco Tequila. Distillation takes place in two stainless steel, copper-lined alembic stills both purchased in the 1970’s and still in operation.

Pickup will be available at Norfolk Wine & Spirits starting at 5:00 PM on Friday, February 26th. Delivery of tasting kits to those within our free local delivery range will be made before 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 2nd.

The Zoom link will be sent to participants after they’ve purchased their take-home tasting kits. Must be of legal drinking age (21+) to participate. No refunds.

Due to unprecedented times, in-person attendance is limited to a total of 10 guests with a maximum group size of two persons. This will be a seated event to ensure adequate distancing between groups. The Curry House has asked for masks to be worn at all times, with the exception of when guests are seated at their table.
