Virtual Tasting: Two Great Wines of Portugal with Jake Parrott

Join us Friday, July 17th at 7:30 PM for a virtual tasting of two great wines from Portugal – Carcavelos and Madeira – led by Jake Parrott via Zoom.

Sample rare and near extinct wines including 20 year old Madeira Terrantez wine, reportedly cultivated in only about a hectare, as we explore the various Madeiras and their close ties to the USA since the times of the nation’s founding fathers. Also included are three Carcavelos wines from the smallest DOC in Portugal with only one producer. We will also sample two vintage Carcavelos, 1986 and 1996 from a closed Carcavelos producer Casa Manoel Boullosa Quinta DOS.

Take-home tasting kits cost $50.00 each and include the five expressions below, as well as a $20.00 credit good towards the purchase of any of the bottles in the tasting line-up, all of which will be on sale for attendees.

Pickup will be available at Norfolk Wine & Spirits starting at 4:30 PM on Sunday, July 12th. Delivery of tasting kits to those within our delivery range will be made before 7:00 PM on Friday, July 16th. Must be of legal drinking age (21+) to participate. No refunds.
