Yeah Cool by Josh Scott is an unconventional, low-intervention take on Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, produced from the Scott family’s Millstone Vineyard in New Zealand. Rather than following the region’s familiar crisp, fruit-driven style, Josh Scott uses full skin-contact fermentation with no temperature control, followed by no fining or filtration.
The extended skin contact gives the wine an almost orange-wine character, adding texture, savory complexity and depth while retaining Sauvignon Blanc’s naturally vibrant aromatics.
Expect passion fruit, green apple, lychee and citrus, complemented by intriguing notes of beeswax, white pepper and subtle salinity. The palate is fleshy, textured and slightly grainy, with considerably more weight and complexity than a conventional Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
An excellent choice for drinkers interested in natural and minimal-intervention wines, or anyone looking for a very different interpretation of Sauvignon Blanc.
