Golden Years is the marriage of Tokay, “the King of Wines and the Wine of Kings” meets Islay, the Queen of the Hebrides. The unlikely alliance has created something really rather regal.

Sweet and opulent as Tokay (or Tokaji depending how you spell it) is, it melts beautifully into this powerful Island malt. Stone fruit, oak, florals and brioche sink into the coastal canvas to create a Scotch like no other.

Distilled at Caol Ila in 2012 and bottled in 2026, this 14 year old single malt draws its character from time spent in two first fill Tokay casks. The influence is obvious and elegant, powerful and poised.

Tokay, a sweet dessert wine from Hungary is revered the world over and has long been celebrated for its richness and depth.

At 55% ABV, Golden Years delivers intensity without excess, allowing both spirit and cask to speak clearly.

Nose

The seaside meets barbequed peaches! Big tropical fruits, stone, fruit and of course peat.

Palate

Brioche, ripe stone fruits, peat and of course a touch of salinity. Banana?

Finish

The fruit gives way to peat which eventually softens to expose oak and mellow spice.
