Torabhaig Legacy Series – Chapter Four: Sound of Sleat
Behind the Torabhaig distillery lies the Sound of Sleat—Linne Shlèite in Gaelic—a narrow, forceful strip of sea that separates the Isle of Skye from the Scottish mainland. It’s a place of weather and wonder, and now, the namesake of our fourth chapter in the Legacy Series.
Sound of Sleat continues our exploration of ‘Smoke with Taste’, the evolving signature style of Torabhaig. Crafted with intention and intensity, this single malt captures the rugged beauty of Skye and the meticulous precision of our distilling ethos.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Delicate orange zest leads the way, followed by soft apricot and sweet popcorn. Maritime seaweed adds coastal depth, with subtle pipe tobacco, honey, vanilla, and boiled sweets enriching the glass.
Palate
A hallmark of Torabhaig, rich bonfire smoke is layered with light oak spice, honeyed sweetness, and a faint waxy texture. Sea salt and seaweed interplay with white pepper and sweet spice, creating a dynamic and evolving sip.
Finish
Lingering and elegant—like a sunset over the Sound of Sleat—with echoes of honey, ocean spray, and the distant memory of a storm at sea.
Sound of Sleat is more than a whisky; it is a reflection of place, passion, and the relentless pursuit of flavour. A chapter in our legacy that invites you to taste the wild soul of Skye.
