Tasting: Seven types of Sherry wines and Whiskies aged in Sherry casks with Marco Acosta and Bikram Singh (Wednesday Feb. 8th, 2023)
$15.00
Wednesday, February 8th, 7.00 to 9.00 pm
Sherry and wines have a very close bond, especially when we are talking about single malt whiskies. A large percentage of Single Malts produced have some form of Sherry connection either fully or partially matured or finished in sherry casks. Sherry wines were once quite popular but that popularity has waned and Single Malts play a key role in sustaining Sherry production. This tasting will explore Sherry wines from a whisky drinkers perspective. We will explore all seven types of sherry wines and also try to pair them with whiskies aged in the corresponding sherry casks.
A secondary impact of sherried whiskies is the occasional influence of sulfur. We will try to locate sulfured whiskies and also explore various types of S compounds in whiskey.
Assorted will snacks will be provided:
Assorted soft and hard cheese, cold cuts, nuts and dried fruits, olive bread, olive, pate etc
