Tasting: Gustoso Rum & Gran Dovejo Tequila (July 6, 2021)

Join us on Tuesday July 6th, 7:00 PM, at Norfolk Wine & Spirits, for a tasting of Gustoso Rum and Gran Dovejo Tequila with Salvador Chávez (Founder/Owner of Puente Internacional, producer of Gustoso Rum, Gran Dovejo Tequila and La Luna Mezcal)

Gustoso Aguardiente Artisanal Rum is produced from 100% locally grown sugarcane grown exclusively in the highlands of Michoacan, Mexico. The terroir and cool nights of this high altitude create ideal conditions for the cultivation of sugar cane and creation of a complex, deeply flavored rum. The family-run sugar cane farms crafts sustainably produced, small-batch rum that stands in stark contrast to the lighter, mass-produced options. 

Tequila Gran Dovejo is a small-batch, traditionally crafted, tequila made from 100%  estate-grown blue agaves in the highlands of Jalisco by the Feliciano Vivanco Family. The iron rich soil in this region is ideal for growing large agaves with high sugar content. Gran Dovejo is fermented with the use of “Prise de Mousse” champagne yeast and wild local yeast strands from the estate agaves themselves. Then it’s double distilled using alembic copper pot stills.
