This majestic 26-Year-Old blended Scotch whisky takes its inspiration from the glorious wilds of Scotland, the kingdom that Royal Salute calls home, and pays tribute to this mighty kingdom by finishing this exceptional 26-Year-Old blend in virgin Scottish oak casks, make from trees felled from a single forest in the heart of Scotland, for the very first time.

The rare wood of these casks brings a distinctive toasted flavor to the sweetness of the Royal Salute blend. Scottish oak is incredibly challenging to work with at all stages of production: growing, milling, and coopering. Its rarity, costliness and tendency to knot mean it is scarcely used for whisky maturation.

TASTING NOTES

Nose — Rich dark toffee, lemon curd and milk chocolate in honeycomb are the complemented beautifully by ripe plums, apricot, crystallised ginger and a wisp of sweet smoke.

Palate — Lavish salted caramel and thick set honey give way to orange marmalade, toasted oak and gentle warming spice notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

Finish — Long and rich with a hint of smoke.
