Torabhaig Taigh is the distillery’s first permanent core release and the heart of the Torabhaig range. Taigh—Scottish Gaelic for “house” or “home”—is a reflection of the distillery, the Sleat Peninsula on the Isle of Skye, and the people who shape its character. Like any good home, it’s meant to be shared.

Building on the success of the Legacy Series, Taigh marks a new chapter for Torabhaig: a whisky that fully embodies its signature house style—“Smoke with Taste.” Elegant, balanced, and expressive peat is paired with sweetness and texture rather than dominance.

Matured primarily in First Fill Bourbon casks, with supporting influence from Refill Bourbon and a touch of Madeira casks, Taigh delivers layers of vanilla, honey, and sweet spice, softened by gentle smoke and rounded fruit character. The result is a whisky that is unmistakably Torabhaig—coastal, composed, and confidently peated.

The label artwork was created by local Hebridean artist Aileen Grant, whose hand-finished piece beautifully captures the distillery and its surrounding landscape.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Seaside embers and flint smoke balanced by earthy woodland notes. Baked apple pie, maple syrup, and gentle raisin richness emerge alongside clove, cinnamon, and a hint of cereal biscuit.

Palate: Light to medium-bodied. Soft, elegant smoke wrapped in vanilla custard, toasted almond, and sweet dried fruits, carried on a smooth, lightly oily texture.

Finish: Gentle yet lively. Toasted oak and light tannin lead into lingering vanilla, red fruits, cinnamon, and clove, finishing with a persistent, approachable coastal smoke.
