A “3 year old” born from a very happy accident.

On the bottling line, just 1% young grain was mistakenly vatted with 99% heavily peated island single malt that had already spent 16 years maturing in bourbon casks. By law, that tiny drop of young grain means the whisky must carry the age of its youngest component.

Enter Living Souls.

Seeing the potential, the team secured the liquid and matured it for an additional two years in sherry casks, adding richness and spice to an already remarkable whisky.

So while the label says 3 years, the reality in the glass is something very different. 18 years. Peated Malt. Mull

We can’t officially name the distillery… but there’s only one on the Isle of Mull.

This tiny, one-off batch became an instant cult bottle, an absolute banger that put Living Souls on the map across the UK and Europe. Exceptional whisky, incredible story, and serious value for what’s in the bottle.

Tasting Notes: This release is a phenomenal “3yo” blended Scotch and came about due to a happy accident where a hint of grain met a heavily peated island malt from Mull. Imagine yourself in a vibrant spice market, enveloped in rich sherried fruitiness and smoky aromas. The air is alive with dried orange, chili flakes and spicy black pepper. Each sip draws you deeper into this sensory journey. A touch of sea salt, tobacco, and white pepper adds a sophisticated depth, making each moment a memorable exploration of taste.
