Amrut Kranthi is a new Indian single malt whisky from Bengaluru’s pioneering Amrut Distilleries, launched in August 2026 as India marked its 80th Independence Day.
Named Kranthi — “revolution” — the whisky represents both Amrut’s pioneering role in Indian single malt and a confident new chapter for Indian whisky on the world stage.
Bottled at 40% ABV, this non-age-statement, unpeated single malt is produced from Indian two-row barley and fermented using Amrut’s proprietary yeast strain.
Four-Cask Maturation
Kranthi draws its character from maturation across four different cask types:
• New Oak
• Ex-Bourbon
• Madeira
• Oloroso Sherry
The combination brings together tropical fruit, sweetness, spice and oak while maintaining an approachable, creamy character.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Tropical fruits, pomelo and coconut with underlying sweetness and oak.
Palate: Creamy and rounded, with tropical fruit, gentle spice and subtle tannins.
Finish: Balanced and clean, with lingering fruit, spice and oak.

The release is also a tribute to his late father, Neelkanth Rao Jagdale, whose vision and pioneering work helped establish India’s modern single malt journey and took Amrut whisky beyond India’s borders.
