Old Elk Straight Bourbon Whiskey (Norfolk Whisky Group #73, 57% ABV)

Aged four years in an American oak Char No. 4 single barrel, this Old Elk Straight Bourbon Whiskey is sourced from MGP and distilled from a mash bill of 51% corn, 34% malted barley, and 15% rye. By using four times more malted barley than traditional recipes, the bourbon generates sweet, light components. The malted barley, combined with spicy essence of clove from the rye, and the traditional rich bourbon character from the corn, creates the overall robust taste profile of Old Elk Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

Nose: Cherry/apple fruit, hint of caramel, brown sugar and vanilla, and cedar wood and saw dust.

Palate: Clean mouthfeel. Cherry, apricot and oak flavors.

Finish: Cocoa and lingering fruit and oak notes. Does not drink like a 57% ABV or 114 proof whiskey.
