Mezcales de Leyenda started more than 15 years ago, when very few people had a clue about mezcal. Back at this time in 2005, when most were drinking tequila, they opened the first mezcal bar in Mexico City: “La Botica.” This bar helped create a buzz about mezcal and was the first of many steps on an journey in the world of mezcal.
Mezcales de Leyenda Durango is made by Maestro José Ventura Gallegos, second generation of mezcaleros. He prefers to do mezcal from ‘cenizo’, but also does a remarkable one with ‘masparillo’.
