LOCALLY-GROWN BARLEY & PURE WATER
Our barley variety, “Laureate” is all locally-grown. Our Water is supplied from a local aquifer flowing through 300 million-year-old sandstone.

A SMALL FAMILY-OWNED DISTILLERY
Our connection to the industry dates back to the turn of the 19th century when John Haig (founder of Haig’s) built his 1st distillery on Wemyss land.

LONG FERMENTATION SLOW DISTILLATION
A long fermentation produces a characteristically fruity wash that carries through a slow distillation in copper pot stills into our final product.

BACKGROUND
Sweetly complex and elegant, BALCOMIE is rich with baking spices, dried fruit & tropical character. BALCOMIE is matured in American oak casks previously used for maturing Oloroso in the solera system chosen by Production Director, Isabella Wemyss.

Non-chill filtered, Natural color

COLOR
Deep gold

NOSE
Golden raisins, molasses, fruit loaf with cinnamon icing, a touch of dark chocolate with summer berries

PALATE
Sweet pineapple up front, orange peel, and baking spices.

ANALYSIS
Alcohol: 46 %

FINISH
Abundant dried apricot with hints roasted hazelnut.
