Rarity reflected in every drop. Johnnie Walker King George V has been created to celebrate the monarch who granted us our first Royal Warrant in 1934. Our makers drew on our archives to hand-select whiskies from distilleries that existed during his reign. This includes some of the rarest in our reserves, including irreplaceable casks from the now-closed Port Ellen distillery. Much like its namesake, it has a great depth of character and elegant reserve.

Johnnie Walker is the most popular name in blended scotch. The Speyside standout has been a mainstay in the Scotch Whisky space for well over a century and offers an enormous array of whisky offerings that range from completely accessible to ultra-premium. Given the size of the distillery, as well as the resources of its owner Diageo, Johnnie Walker also has an impressive number of special-edition offerings. King George V is a rich blend of rare and exceptional whiskies that existed during his Majesty’s reign (1910-1936), including Cardhu, Caol Ila, the much sought after whiskies of Port Ellen-the famous closed Islay distillery now being resurrected and the Now Silent Port Dundas.

The Johnnie Walker King George V Lunar New Year Tiger Edition features a hand-selection of rare, premium whiskies that existed in the Speyside region of Scotland during the reign of King George V. The premium scotch serves as a thank you and remembrance of King George V giving the distillery a royal warrant to supply the royal court with scotch. Given its historical weight, the King George V blend contains some of the rarest scotches in the brand’s reserves, including a few that are housed in their closed Port Ellen distillery.

SMELL
Sweet, smoky aromas from Port Ellen greet you. It’s followed by notes of orange, raisins, figs and cinnamon.

TASTE
Abundant spice and dried fruits from Speyside and Highland whiskies are perfectly balanced with vanilla. They release layers of sweet fruits, dark chocolate, toffee and roast nuts.

FINISH
Port Ellen gives a coastal smokiness that gathers momentum through the long finish. Smoky finish, with hints of spice and pepper.
