A selection of outstanding 20 Year Aged Single Malt Irish Whiskey Single Barrels, distilled by Noel Sweeney, from his personal single barrel collection. Bottled at cask strengths, individually numbered by barrel and bottle – Non chill-filtered. No additives.

The Whiskey:
A Single Malt Irish Whiskey, distilled at the Cooley Distillery in County Louth, Ireland from a mash of 100% Malted Barley. Double Distilled in Copper Pot Stills by Master Distiller and Blender Noel Sweeney. Aged for 20 years in second fill Ex-Bourbon Barrels originally sourced from Heaven Hill.

Noel Sweeney:
To date, Noel is one of the most awarded distillers and blenders across all categories of Whiskey. He was Master Distiller and Blender of the legendary Cooley distillery for nearly 30 years, inducted into Whiskey Magazine’s Hall of Fame in 2017, and is the former chairperson of the Irish Whiskey Association’s Technical Committee.

The Barrels:
Saints & Scholars III represents the third selection of unique single barrels, the first five released at 18 years of age, and the second five at 19 years of age. These barrels were not only distilled by Noel Sweeney, but are from his personal barrel collection – barrels that he has set aside and taken with him his entire career.

We invited Noel to taste through all of these barrels and give us his impressions. He agreed, and to our pleasant surprise, he told us each barrel was in possession of sufficient character and nuance to be bottled and sold as “single barrel” whiskey.
We have identified and released just 8 barrels in 2024, all bottles designating both barrel number, as well as bottle number. A grand total of less than 1,300 bottles exclusively for the US market.

Included in this vintage are barrels 4334, 4336, 4337, 4338, 4355, 4356, 4369 and 4375 – each unique and special and Noel approved.
Bottled at Cask Strength in 750mL bottles.

There will be one to two of these annually approximating 1000 nine liter cases.
