February 24, 1999, the birth of a classic.
Every year on February 24, the birthday of Emperor Charles V, Het Anker brews the “Gouden Carolus Cuvée van de Keizer Imperial Dark.”
This exceptional beer develops a refined complexity and intense aromas over the years. Its surprisingly smooth and fruity character combines a warming fullness of flavor with a refreshing finish, complemented by notes of roasted malt, caramel, and plums. A brew fit for an emperor, to be cherished.
