Scapa is a distillery from the Isle of Orkney, and this expression is released by the legendary independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail as part of the Distillery labels series. It was distilled in 2005 and left to age in first-fill bourbon barrels until 2018, when it was bottled at 43% ABV using a new packaging and a retro-style label with an old Scapa logo.
NOSE
Sharp green apple, melted butter, a touch of spent match underneath fresh malt notes.
PALATE
Creamy vanilla and runny honey. Citrus acidity develops.
FINISH
Chocolate biscuits, orange peel, caraway.
