The 2018 il Campo Rosso has a pale to medium ruby color. It’s a blend of 75% Sangiovese, 15% Barbera and 10% Aglianico with pretty strawberry and blueberry fruits plus wafts of potpourri, leather, spices and a balsamic uplift. Medium to full-bodied, its expansive fruits are accented by bitters character, supported by a chalky frame and finishing bright and juicy. This enjoyable, pleasantly rustic wine punches far above its price point and will be perfect for tomato-based sauces and dishes.
