Eifel German Single Malt Whisky 2019 Edition

Eifel Whisky’s 2019 bottling of their German Single Malt Whisky was limited to 200 cases. Distilled from 100% unpeated German and EU barley. Distillation was done in the German tradition: a primary distillation in a column still (including the grist), followed by a second distillation in a small copper pot still. The alcohol content was reduced to 60% before entering casks. The spirit then aged for at least four years in refill Bordeaux red wine casks made of American oak, before finishing for an additional two years in 1st fill Cream Sherry casks. Eifel Whisky’s 2019 German Single Malt Whisky earned a 93 Point rating from Whisky Advocate.

It’s 6 years old, comprising a primary maturation in refill red wine barrels and a 2-year finish in cream sherry casks, producing a syrupy-textured dram with baked desserts of plum and orange, brown sugar, ginger pudding, vanilla, chocolate-covered nuts, and a burnt sugar finish.”
