Devils River Agave Bourbon

Devils River Whiskey, founded in San Antonio, Texas, in 2017, is named after Devils River in Southwest Texas. This craft distiller of bourbon, though it has garnered recognition for its products through SIP Awards, The Fifty Best accolades, and International Spirits Competition gold medals, is perhaps best known for the fact former wrestler and current actor Dave Bautista joined the ownership team in 2023.

Devils River offers eight expressions, ranging from premium Bourbon, Rye, and Barrel Strength to a growing assortment of flavored whiskey, including Coffee, Agave, and Cinnamon options. The limestone-filtered water the distillery sources from the Devils River is said to be a key ingredient in the whiskey’s finishing process.

What’s in the bottle
The whiskey being reviewed here, Devils River Agave Bourbon, is a result of combining the distillery’s base bourbon whiskey with a touch of organic, unfiltered Blue Agave nectar from Jalisco, Mexico. Described as “Bourbon Whiskey With Natural Agave,” it is non-age statement in nature and bottled at 40% ABV.
