Crafted by Humberto Alvarado, a third-generation distiller from the heart of Jalisco, this small-batch spirit draws on a centuries-old family recipe that preserves the true essence of agave. Produced in La Estancita, a secluded jungle enclave nestled between Tequila and Magdalena, Jalisco, Nuestras Raíces captures the origin story of Cazcanes itself. It was here that the brand’s founders first studied ancestral techniques, learned the rhythm of traditional production, and shaped the philosophy that defines Cazcanes today.

Nose: Bright and herbaceous, with notes of fresh lime, cut grass, grilled vegetables, mint, and grapefruit, accented by hints of roasted pepper and almonds.
Palate: Lush and full-bodied, revealing layers of lemon, lime, ripe cooked agave, and sea salt, rounded by touches of cantaloupe and green apple.

Cazcanes Tequila was founded in 2015, with its first release arriving in 2017. Though young, its inspiration runs deep — the name honors the Cazcanes, the last native Mexicans conquered by the Spaniards, and the spirit itself is said to be based on a 300-year-old indigenous recipe discovered in a jungle still. Produced in Amatitán, Jalisco, at NOM 1614 (Tequilera Tap), Cazcanes is a small-batch, additive-free tequila crafted from 100% organic lowland Blue Weber agave and single-source natural spring water.

Every step of the process — from slow autoclave cooking and open-air fermentation to traditional pot distillation — is designed to preserve the agave’s true character. The brand’s unique numbering system corresponds to proof rather than age: No. 7 (80 proof), No. 9 (100 proof), and No. 10 (still strength, ~108 proof). This approach allows drinkers to experience the same pure tequila at varying intensities, showcasing how proof alone can shape flavor and texture.
