About the Producer
Catherine and Pierre Breton are bon vivant vignerons who embody the spirit of generosity, charm, and integrity. From their 11 hectares in Restigné, just east of Bourgueil, they craft Chinon, Bourgueil, and a touch of Vouvray. Their approach is rooted in respect for the land: certified organic since 1991, biodynamic practices since 1994, and now progressing toward full biodynamic certification.
The Bretons’ vineyards span gravel, limestone, clay, schist, and yellow tuffeau soils, and their wines—mostly Cabernet Franc (known locally as “Breton”) with a little Chenin Blanc—reflect this diversity. Catherine produces her own cuvées under the “La Dilettante” label, while Pierre leads in the cellar. Together, they divide their range into three styles: Natural Wines (for immediate enjoyment), Classic Wines (expressing appellation typicity), and Wines of Terroir (parcels vinified individually, built for long aging). Their wines are honest, expressive, and made with authenticity—beloved by natural wine enthusiasts worldwide. And with labels as artful as their winemaking, every bottle tells a story worth sharing.
