7-Bottle Bundle — NWS Special, August 2026
Seven Bottles That Make Absolutely No Sense Together—Until They Do

At first glance, this may be one of the more unusual collections we have assembled at Norfolk Wine & Spirits.

Tequila. Haitian rum. English gin. Vermont barrel-aged gin. New York rye whiskey. Islay peat. Mizunara. Stout and rum casks.

There is, however, a method to the madness—and a particularly compelling reason to explore the collection as a whole.

For this August NWS Special, we have priced the complete seven-bottle collection considerably more attractively than purchasing the bottles individually. It is our way of encouraging the curious to experience the entire journey, from unaged agave and classic dry gin to Mizunara, Islay peat, stout and rum cask finishes.

All seven expressions are also available individually, but the complete bundle represents exceptional value—available only while the special pricing and our limited supply last.

The attractive pricing is an added benefit; the real appeal lies in experiencing seven distinctive spirits and the very different ways raw material, place and cask shape what ends up in the glass.

1. Don Ramón Plata Ceramic Edition Tequila

A beautifully presented 100% Blue Weber Agave Plata tequila from Jalisco, bottled in Don Ramón’s distinctive blue ceramic presentation from the Luis Miguel Collection.

Unaged and agave-forward, this is the starting point of our experiment: what does the raw material itself taste like before oak gets involved? Expect cooked agave, citrus, fresh herbs, green fruit and white pepper.

2. Rhum Barbancourt Volcanic Cane — 46.7% ABV

Perhaps the whisky geek’s rum in this collection.

This 15-year-old Haitian sugarcane rum was matured in ex-Cognac and ex-Bourbon casks before finishing in peated Islay whisky casks.

Mature tropical fruit, cacao and spice collide with smoke and peat.

Haiti meets Islay.

3. Rhum Barbancourt Cane Blossom — 45% ABV

Take mature Barbancourt in a completely different direction.

Instead of Islay peat, Cane Blossom introduces Japanese Mizunara oak, bringing floral aromatics, white fruit, sandalwood, fragrant spice and exotic wood character.

Where Volcanic Cane is about collision, Cane Blossom is about integration.

Haiti meets Japan.

4. Warner’s Harrington Dry Gin — 44% ABV

A classic English dry gin provides something of a control sample for the two barrel-aged gins that follow.

Produced in Harrington, Northamptonshire, this is a bright, juniper-forward gin with citrus, herbal and floral character and gentle spice.

Taste this before the Tom Cats and the experiment becomes considerably more interesting.

5. Barr Hill Tom Cat Barrel Aged Gin Limited Edition Stout Cask — 46% ABV

Now we take gin into much stranger territory.

Barr Hill’s Tom Cat combines juniper, raw Vermont honey and barrel maturation, then introduces the dark influence of a stout-seasoned cask.

Expect juniper and honey alongside roasted malt, cacao, coffee, caramel and spice.

Somewhere between gin, whisky and stout lies Tom Cat.

6. Barr Hill Tom Cat Barrel Aged Gin Limited Edition Rum Cask — 46.5% ABV

Same underlying idea. Completely different cask conversation.

Here Tom Cat’s juniper, honey and oak meet a rum cask, bringing richer fruit, caramelized sweetness, tropical notes and warm spice.

Taste the Stout and Rum Casks side by side and you have a particularly revealing demonstration of just how dramatically the finishing cask can reshape a spirit.

7. Hudson Whiskey NY “Back Room Deal” Straight Rye Whiskey — 46% ABV

And finally, things get properly convoluted.

Hudson’s 95% rye whiskey begins in New York. Its emptied barrels travel to Scotland, where they are used to mature heavily peated Scotch whisky. Those newly peat-seasoned barrels then travel back to New York, where mature Hudson rye goes into them for finishing.

New York → Scotland → New York.

Pepper, mint and rye spice meet fruit, caramel and earthy peat.

It is an inefficient amount of international travel for a barrel.

Fortunately, the barrel doesn’t have to pay airfare.

What’s the Connection?

This isn’t really a collection built around seven spirit categories.

It’s an exploration of what happens when distillers start playing with the boundaries between them.

Agave without oak.
Gin without oak.
Gin with stout and rum influence.
Haitian cane meeting Mizunara.
Haitian cane meeting Islay peat.
American rye meeting Scottish peat.

Rum begins borrowing from whisky. Gin borrows from rum and beer. Rye sends its barrels to Scotland and asks for them back.

At some point the conventional categories become considerably less useful—and the liquid becomes considerably more interesting.
