World Arak Day Tasting
Join us at Norfolk Wine & Spirits on Thursday, June 27th at 6:30 pm for a FREE tasting in celebration of World Arak Day! We’ll sample Riachi’s Arak al Jouzour neat, the traditional way (with water and ice), and in a cocktail, alongside some Lebanese sweets. Maybe we’ll even sample a Lebanese whisky or two…
What is Arak?
Arak is a traditional alcoholic beverage of the Levant and Eastern Mediterranean. It is distilled and consumed across a wide area in the Levant, including in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Israel, and Palestine. Arak is often served with meze, which may include dozens of small traditional dishes, as well as with grilled meat. It is also commonly served as an apéritif.
About Riachi’s Arak al Jouzour:
Masterfully crafted at the hands of Riachi Winery & Distillery, Arak al Jouzour is made from double distilled Obaidi grape alcohol which is then distilled with fresh and green levantine aniseed in Riachi’s copper pot gooseneck still.
No registration necessary; just show up.
