Westland Distillery Tasting event: Judgement
Join us on Thursday, October 7, from 6:30-8:00 pm, at the unique high-end Filson Store in the heart of Boston for a FREE blind tasting of Westland and single malts from Scotland, Australia and India with Devin Vilardi, Regional Ambassador.
In THE JUDGEMENT OF WESTLAND, you will be the Judge!
For centuries Scotland set the standards in single malt whisky. But today there is a sea change underway. New voices have emerged to challenge the sanctity of tradition in single malt. Westland’s goal is similar to that of The Judgement of Paris—a blind tasting hosted by British wine merchant Steven Spurrier in 1976 that pit American Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon against some of the most famed Bordeaux Chateaux—by demonstrating again that new world can indeed stand tall with old world.
Event Agenda:
– Welcome: Sample Kits distributed with instructions to score whiskies using your smartphone
– Blind tasting of 4 (four) single malts (curated by Dave Broom and Sam Simmons) on your own, at your pace
– Food is provided
– Westland tasting comprised of American Single Malt, Sherry Wood, and limited editions Coldfoot, Garryana 5th Edition and Colere.
