Tasting: Mount Gay Rum with Jason Cousins

Details

  • Date: November 12, 2021
  • Time:
    6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join us on Friday, November 12, from 6:30-8:30 pm at Norfolk Wine & Spirits, for a free in-store tasting of Mount Gay Rumt with Jason Cousins, Brand Development Manager.

Mount Gay has been producing rum on Barbados for more than 300 years, and is today the oldest continuously functioning rum distillery in the world. Owned by the French spirits company Remy Cointreau since 2014, Mount Gay has currently its first-ever female Master Blender, Trudiann Branker. The pure, calcium-rich water from Harrison’s Cave, a limestone cavern, is essential to Mount Gay’s rum production.

Thanks to Remy Cointreau, owner of Bruichladdich and Westland whisky distilleries, Mount Gay counts now with a few full Coffey stills, unusual in the rum industry. The company uses ex-bourbon, ex-sherry, ex-Cognac and ex-Scotch casks to age its rum expressions.

Lineup:

Mount Gay Eclipse (REG. $24.99)
Mount Gay Black9 Barrel (REG. $64.99)
Mount Gay XO (REG. $69.99)
Mount Gay 1703 (REG. $214.99)
Mount Gay Master Blender Collection: Port Cask (REG. $189.99)
Mount Gay Master Blender Collection: Pot Still Rum (REG. $199.99)

This is a FREE event. No need to RSVP. Must be of legal drinking age (21+) to attend. Space is limited.
