Tasting: Gordon & MacPhail Dinner with Richard Urquhart (May 15, 2022)
Join us for an exclusive dinner on Sunday May 15, 5:00 – 7:00 pm at China Gourmet Lounge (Framingham, MA), for a Premium Gordon & MacPhail Scotch Whisky Tasting with Richard Urquhart, Head of Sales, Americas, Gordon & MacPhail.
Established in 1895 in the heart of Scotland’s Speyside region, Gordon & MacPhail is one of the first and most iconic whisky independent bottler in the world. It was in the early years that a young John Urquhart joined the business to serve as an apprentice under the two founding partners. Urquhart quickly established himself as a valuable associate for selecting, purchasing, and maturing whiskies from local distilleries, and also assisting with the creation of house blends.
Newer generations of the Urquhart family joined the company through the years, collaborating in the development and stewardship of the brand and priceless casks. John Urquhart’s great grandson, Richard Urquhart, joined the family company in 2009. Eight years later he was promoted to the role of International Sales Manager (Asia & America) and currently fulfils the role of Head of Sales (Americas).
This is once in a lifetime opportunity to meet a member of the Urquhart family in person and learn about the history and maturation of some of the best whiskies in the world from first hand. Celebrate a wonderful night among friends and connoisseurs with a gorgeous view of Foss Reservoir, and embrace the chance of tasting more than $6,000 worth of single cask whiskies. This is not a lineup for the faint-hearted: all the whiskies are cask strength, half of the expressions listed are priced close to a thousand dollars, and we will close the night with a 40-Year-Old whisky from the Private Collection!

About the Connoisseurs Choice Collection:
Created in 1968 by whisky visionary George Urquhart, over the years this range has featured single malts from almost 100 Scottish distilleries. Comprising more than 2,000 individual bottlings, each Connoisseurs Choice tells its life story through its label: cask type, bottling date, strength, vintage and tasting note.
About the Private Collection:
Hidden within our liquid archives are casks from specific Scottish distilleries and vintages that, either when individually selected and bottled at natural strength or combined together as a parcel of casks, represent a release of exceptional quality. Specifically chosen by our directors, including third and fourth generations of the Urquhart family, using the knowledge of spirit selection and cask maturation passed down across three centuries, casks are selected for their extreme quality and personality.
Must be of legal drinking age (21+) to attend. Space is limited.
