About Mike Gilmore & Roaming Road Spirits:
Mike Gilmore founded Roaming Road after years of curating a rotating selection of single cask spirits for Country Lane Liquor in Wyoming. Turns out, he had a knack for getting to know the distillers behind some of the most unique barrel aged spirits in the world, eventually earning a bit of a reputation for shining a well-deserved light on single cask spirits with a distinct point of view.
 
Over the past 16 years, Mike has explored countless distilleries – building relationships, trust, and a shared passion along the way. He founded Roaming Road to make sure that these unique finds don’t get lost in a major producer’s blend. Join him on this Roaming Road, and let’s go where the spirit takes us.

About Renaissance Rum:
Hailing from the southern tip of Taiwan, Renaissance Rum is possibly the most fearless rum distillery in the world. This single family operation grows their own sugarcane, customizes their own stills, utilizes techniques like dunder and extreme fermentation times, and matures them in some of the rarest, most costly casks in the world (their standard bourbon cask is William Larue Weller!) – many of them only obtainable through Master Distiller Olivier Caen’s extensive connections to the fine wine industry. Their iconic back labels are a veritable spreadsheet of information, the ultimate in spirits transparency.

Until now, it’s been virtually impossible to get any of their bottles outside of Taiwan (where entire casks sell out within hours) aside from two casks acquired by the Whisky Exchange in London. However, two casks will become available for the first time in the U.S. through Boston importer Raising Glasses, and we’ll be tasting these for the first time.
