Join us on Friday, March 12th, at 7:00 PM, for a hybrid tasting of Irishman and Writer’s Tears Irish Whiskeys with Paulo Pereira, Business Development Manager at Hotaling & Co.

The Irishman is the Walsh family’s original whiskey and represents the rebirth of the traditional family-owned provincial distilling that thrived during the last golden age of Irish Whiskey in the early 1900s. Writer’s Tears finds inspiration in the 19th and early 20th century, when Ireland was a golden era both for Irish whiskey and, perhaps coincidentally, for great Irish novelists, poets and playwrights—George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde, W.B. Yeats,  James Joyce, Samuel Beckett and Bram Stoker, to name but a few. Many of these great writers would take refuge in their local public house, where they could draw inspiration from their daily observations of life while enjoying the comfort of their favorite dram of whiskey. Walsh Whiskey’s Writers’ Tears Copper Pot is a critically acclaimed, award-winning recreation of that fabled 19th century style of whiskey. A truly unique expression that is embedded in history.

Pickup will be available at Norfolk Wine & Spirits starting at 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 7th. Delivery of tasting kits to those within our free local delivery range will be made before 6:00 PM on Friday, March 12th.

The Zoom link will be sent to participants after they’ve purchased their take-home tasting kits. Must be of legal drinking age (21+) to participate. No refunds.

Due to unprecedented times, in-person attendance is limited to a total of 10 guests with a maximum group size of two persons. This will be a seated event to ensure adequate distancing between groups. The Curry House has asked for masks to be worn at all times, with the exception of when guests are seated at their table.
